Resource Link
The road to recovery has no map, the directions are scary, and there is no clear end point. The hope here is to give some guidance, post questions, share resources and travel the journey together. When our journey started, we were told, "There is no road map for this or instruction manual!" We have networked, researched and built a community to make the path a little less desolate and endless. We encourage everyone to start on their research journey, network and as always discuss with your provider before trying anything new.
There are a few things everyone should do when encountered with this situation:
Keep thourough notes of each day, especially in the hospital.
Sign up for online chart access (for records).
Reach out to inpatient rehabilitation centers immediately, a nurse case manager can also assist with this. Do not waste time making a decision.
Apply for your state medical assistance.
Apply for SSDI. SSA-16 Application for Social Security Disability.
Inpatient Rehabilitation Facilities:
This is not an all inclusive list. These are the centers we are familiar with. Please do your research for your locality.

As with any medication, treatment, devices, or equipment ALWAYS consult with your physician before starting anything new! This website is a resource only to help connect the injured and their families with options. It is up to each person to do their research, work with their care team and obtain approval from your medical/rehabilitative provider.
